Roundtable: Securing the Financial Sector for the Quantum Era
· 15:30 – 16:55 Amsterdam time · Room F (6&7)
The financial sector has moved further than most towards a coordinated post-quantum migration. The Quantum Safe Financial Forum, together with FS-ISAC and CFDIR, has published a framework for prioritizing use cases and sequencing the transition in shared implementation waves. The question facing institutions now is no longer what the framework says, but what it means for their own portfolios, their vendors, and their supervisors.
This roundtable brings banks, central banks and supervisors, market infrastructures, and their technology suppliers together for a working discussion rather than a series of presentations. After a short introduction from the moderators, participants will work through how the prioritization applies in practice: which use cases institutions are actually starting with, where their sequencing differs and why, and what the shared waves require from the providers on which the whole sector depends.
The discussion will give particular attention to the dependencies no single institution can resolve alone, from payment and settlement infrastructure to the vendors and standards every participant relies on, and to what institutions need from regulators to keep the transition aligned across markets.
The main conclusions will feed into a brief recap during the conference's closing session.
