Roundtable: Healthcare considerations for PQC

Securing Healthcare for the Quantum Era: A PQC Readiness Roundtable
Medical devices approved and deployed today will remain in clinical use for a decade or more, and patient records carry confidentiality obligations measured in decades. Both timelines run past the point at which today's public-key cryptography is expected to fail, yet healthcare has some of the longest certification cycles and the least room for disruptive change of any sector.
This roundtable brings healthcare providers, device manufacturers, life sciences organizations, and their suppliers together for a working discussion rather than a series of presentations. After a short introduction from the moderator, participants will examine what post-quantum readiness looks like in environments where equipment cannot simply be patched, where regulatory approval governs every change, and where availability is a patient safety matter.
The discussion will focus on a small number of practical questions: how post-quantum migration fits into device certification and product lifecycles; what healthcare organizations can reasonably demand from their suppliers and on what timeline; and how to protect long-lived patient data against harvest-now-decrypt-later exposure.
The main conclusions will feed into a brief recap during the conference's closing session.
