Adding PQ Capabilities to SSH Protocol: The Fedora Approach
· 16:15 – 16:55 Amsterdam time · Blue hall
OpenSSH and libssh are 2 mostly widespread implementations of SSH protocol. Real-world requirements for PQ crypto causes writing significant patches to OpenSSH because of difference of the upstream and downstream requirements. libssh upstream is more binded to Fedora maintainers and lands the changes upstream.
The talk covers key downstream changes in OpenSSH: using OpenSSL code, providing extra algorithms support, FIPS compatibility quirks, in OpenSSH, and corresponding changes in libssh.
