SUMMARY:PQC Budgeting: How to Address the Costs of PQC Readiness
DESCRIPTION:As governments and regulatory bodies around the world accelerat
e guidance and migration timelines for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)\, mi
d-to-large enterprises face an increasingly urgent question: how much shoul
d we budget\, and where do we begin? While the timeline for a cryptographic
ally relevant quantum computer remains uncertain\, the need to prepare is b
 ecoming a board-level risk management priority.\n\nThis session presents a
pragmatic approach to building a multi-year PQC budget that balances techni
cal requirements\, operational realities\, and financial constraints. Atten
dees will explore the primary cost drivers of a successful migration\, incl
uding cryptographic discovery and the creation of a Cryptographic Bill of M
 aterials (CBOM)\, certificate lifecycle modernization\, crypto-agility init
iatives\, HSM and key management upgrades\, application remediation\, testi
ng\, governance\, and workforce enablement.\n\nThe presentation also discus
ses how organizations can prioritize investments based on business risk\, r
egulatory obligations\, and cryptographic exposure\, enabling a phased migr
ation rather than a costly rip-and-replace approach. Participants will leav
e with a practical budgeting framework\, recommended milestones\, and execu
tive-level strategies for securing funding and building organizational cons
ensus. The objective is to help enterprises transform PQC readiness from an
abstract future concern into a measurable\, achievable cybersecurity progr
am with clear business value.\n\n\nSpeakers: Blair Canavan\, Jaime Gómez G
