SUMMARY:ETSI/EU PQC update
DESCRIPTION:While the EU set up its roadmap for a PQC transition and now is
ready for another standardization project regarding PQC involving industry
  uptakes (development\, interoperability\, digital services\, …)\, ETSI i
s preparing for the changes that need to be made.\nAdded to the current QSC
WG on TC CYBER\, ETSI has created a new TC called QT (Quantum Technologies
) to deal with all quantum stuff. While this is really a boost on the matte
r\, it does not solve the specific problems faced at TC ESI regarding certi
ficates and signatures. Therefore\, ETSI ESI has created a new WG called PQ
C which deals with all these aspects. \nThis new WG will focus on producing
at least 4 TRs (Technical Reports) to evaluate the impact of PQC on ESI st
andards. These TRs will cover the areas within the ESI framework\, which ar
e:\n-	Signature creation and validation\n-	Cryptographic suites (this is co
vered under the STF 705 and will work together)\n-	Trust Services Providers
supporting digital signatures and related services\n-	Trust Application Se
rvice Providers\n-	Trust services status lists providers\nEach of these TRs
will be split into multi-part documents\, covering: policy and security re
quirements\, technical specifications and conformity assessments.\nIn this
session you will learn what´s going on in the EU but mainly the ETSI ESI
’s plans for PQC\, the status PQC in the standards-making process\, and e
xpectations for when PQC-enabled eIDAS certificates will be available.\n\nS
