SUMMARY:Merkle Tree Certificates for Private PKI: Size\, Scale\, and Transp
 arency in the Post-Quantum Era
DESCRIPTION:Merkle Tree Certificates (MTCs) introduce a new approach to PKI
that can help address several challenges associated with post-quantum cryp
tography migration. This presentation reviews three key deployment properti
es currently being explored within the IETF: reducing certificate size to m
itigate the impact of larger PQC algorithms\, enabling efficient batch sign
ing and issuance for large-scale deployments\, and leveraging transparency
mechanisms to detect unauthorized certificate issuance and cryptographic do
wngrade attacks.  The talk focuses on how these capabilities can be applie
d within private PKI environments\, examining practical deployment consider
ations\, operational trade-offs\, and opportunities to integrate MTCs along
 side existing X.509-based infrastructures.\n\nSpeakers: Ganesh Mallaya\, Jo
